After a leisurely breakfast at your hotel followed by check-out procedures, it is time to wave goodbye to Table Mountain as you are transferred to Cape Town Airport for your scheduled domestic flight to Skukuza Airport in Mpumalanga. – and where the lodge’s team will be waiting to welcome you and transfer you together with fellow guests to Hoyo Hoyo Safari Lodge for the Ultimate bush experience.
The lodge is located in a private concession within the iconic Kruger National Park, which means away from the crowds of the Kruger Park, giving you a sense of exclusivity in the area. Distinct thatched peaks that peep over the tree line and flashes of burnt orange through lush Leadwood trees signal guests’ arrival at Hoyo Hoyo Safari Lodge, set on the banks of the Mluwati River in the heart of the Kruger National Park.
Hoyo Hoyo Safari Lodge is a small accommodation with only 6 circular air-conditioned Tsonga homesteads with traditional earth-coloured walls and tapered thatched reed roofs.
Tsonga tradition runs throughout these comfortable homesteads; the warm glow of brightly coloured walls, traditional ornaments, and little embellishments on lamps, door handles, and mirrors bring this local culture to life.
Around 15h30 gather for a decadent High tea during which you will be introduced to your ranger who will share great pointers on how to spot the wild animals in the bush. After your briefing, Board on the lodge 4 x 4 Open Landcruiser before setting off on your first wildlife safari drive. The absence of windows and the elevated vantage position allow for excellent photographic opportunities. You will have an amazing chance not only to view the game but also to listen to and smell the African bush and its denizens.
While on Game Drive, you will stop for Sundowners at a magnificent location and toast the splendour of Africa as you watch the sunset. As darkness falls, nocturnal animals of the bush get excited as they celebrate “their dawn” and come out. Your skilled Tsonga tracker will scan the landscape using a spotlight, which illuminates the animals’ eyes. A variety of completely different species can be seen on the night drive back to the lodge. Arrival at the lodge is usually around 7 pm, allowing time to freshen up before enjoying dinner around a campfire with the sounds of the crackling fire and night noises discussing the afternoon highlights with your ranger, and planning for tomorrow’s safari.

It’s your relaxing, informal bush experience on your terms.
