Known for its natural splendor, a wide swathe of the bush, and high density of wildlife – including the Big Five, and over 350 bird species, The Timbavati is home to the elusive white lion and is considered one of South Africa’s premier game viewing destinations.

Your arrival at the Camp will be around lunchtime. Enjoy a refreshing drink while completing the check-in procedures. Once you are settled into your Luxury Tent, depending on your arrival time seat for lunch or afternoon tea.

Around 15h00 gather around for a decadent high tea during which you will be introduced to your ranger. After your briefing, Board on the lodge 4 x 4 Open Landcruiser before setting off on your first-afternoon game drive in search of the big 5.

Rangers are allowed to go off-road whenever necessary to get closer to predator sightings, hence creating good photography opportunities.

While on Game Drive, you will stop for Sundowners at a magnificent location and toast the splendor of Africa as you watch the sunset sink into the dusty horizon. Continue on with the game drive after dark. Your skilled tracker will scan the landscape using a spotlight that illuminates the animal’s eyes. A variety of completely different species can be seen on the night drive back to the lodge.

Return to the lodge and there is time to freshen up and meet in the bar for pre-dinner drinks.

Mealtimes are a sociable affair, with dinner served under the stars (weather permitting), inside reed enclosed boma, around a roaring log fire. This is the time to discuss the afternoon sightings as well as tomorrow’s plans with your ranger.
