Itinerary

Day 1Arrive Cape Town

On arrival at Cape Town International Airport, our representative will transfer you to the Dock House Boutique Hotel at the Waterfront where you will be spending the next 4 nights in a luxury room on Bed & Breakfast.
Dock House Boutique Hotel offers the ideal balance between convenience and complete privacy. The former residence of the Victoria & Alfred Waterfront’s harbour master, today’s Dock House Hotel & Spa is an exclusive boutique gem in one of Cape Town’s best locations. A favourite with the A-list crowd — from the fashion elite to visiting dignitaries — the six-room hotel opened in 2008, but with a V&A address and panoramic views of the sea and towering Table Mountain, it didn’t take long for the word to get out about this petite hideaway. This is an intimate hotel with only a few rooms therefore attention to detail and excellent service are the order of the day.
The hotel’s charming exterior gives way to an opulent world beyond its front door. Chandeliers and ornate ceiling cornices, among other fine touches, create a sense of Victorian elegance.
Depending on your arrival time, the rest of the day is at leisure to relax and unwind from a long international flight.

Day 4 - 5Winelands

You will be collected this morning for your private transfer to tranquil Franschhoek where you will spend the next 2 nights.
Franschhoek is reminiscent of rolling vineyards, memorable hospitality, oak-lined avenues, magnificent Cape Fold mountains scattered with snow in winter and delicate fynbos in summer, cutting-edge cuisine, and some of the world’s most renowned wines and respected winemakers. These are just some of the hallmarks of Franschhoek Valley in the heart of the Cape Winelands.
Your accommodation, The Owner’s Cottage at The Grande Provence offers luxurious and en-suite accommodation for a maximum of 10 Guests in five suites, including a deluxe Honeymoon Suite. The rooms are beautifully appointed and spread between a small grouping of historic Cape Dutch buildings. In the main building of the Cottage are a spacious lounge and a modern, fully equipped kitchen and conservatory.

The Grande Provence, a luxury Wine Estate wears its 325-year history with dignity. In addition to accommodation, it also has its winery, art gallery and restaurant, so its activities are as well-cultivated as its vineyards. By day, linger over local artwork, visit nearby nature reserves, or gaze out over the mountains. In the evening, sip on the fruits of Grande Provence’s labours, while enjoying romantic dinners among the grapevines or in the award-winning restaurant.
Enjoy magnificent mountain landscapes and rolling vineyards as well as Cape Dutch architecture. Spend days visiting world-famous vineyards, sampling them, and learning about the intricate processes used to produce them.

Day 6Winelands to Kruger

This morning, after breakfast, depending on your flight departure time, you will be collected from your hotel by your private chauffeur for your transfer back to Cape Town International Airport in time for your scheduled domestic flight to Skukuza Airport. On arrival, you will be met and transferred to the lodge.
Seat, relax and enjoy the 1-hour road transfer to Dulini Leadwood Lodge located in the western region of the Sabi Sand sets in the southwestern corner of the world-renowned Kruger National Park with whom it shares a 50km unfenced border. It is one of the parks that make up the Greater Kruger National Park.

Dulini Leadwood has only four suites and is the ultimate safari choice for discerning travellers in search of luxurious exclusivity and solitude. Nestled in the confluence of the Sand and Mabrak Rivers, Dulini Leadwood offers an intimate and serene getaway that is completely at peace with the bush that surrounds it. The staff of Dulini Leadwood Lodge have been hand selected to make the experience second to none. From the housekeeping staff to the chef, the hosts, and the guides; the human element makes this experience.

Depending on your arrival time, seat and enjoyed lunch followed by a little siesta or just take a dip in your refreshing plunge pool (heated in Winter) and feel how all stresses and strains just melt away in the deep peace of this exclusive destination.
Around 15h00 gather around for a decadent high tea during which you will be introduced to your ranger. After your briefing, Board on the lodge 4 x 4 Open Landcruiser before setting off on your first-afternoon game drive in search of the big 5. Even though there is a 50-kilometre unfenced boundary with the Kruger National Park which gives animals the freedom to go wherever they wish – they tend to stay right where they are! This is because the Sand River and Sabi River supply much-needed water in the dry season and create an ecosystem with one of the highest and most bio-diverse wildlife populations in Southern Africa. This is the reason why it is quite possible to see the ‘Big Five (lion, leopard, rhinoceros, buffalo and elephant) as well as numerous other animals and birds during one or 2 nights’ stay in the Sabi Sand or even a couple of days. Rangers are allowed to go off-road whenever necessary to get closer to predator sightings, hence creating good photography opportunities.

While on Game Drive, you will stop for Sundowners at a magnificent location and toast the splendour of Africa as you watch the sun sink into the dusty horizon. Continue with the game drive after dark. Your skilled tracker will scan the landscape using a spotlight which illuminates animals’ eyes. A variety of completely different species can be seen on the night drive back to the lodge.
Return to the lodge and there is time to freshen up and meet in the bar for pre-dinner drinks.
Mealtimes are a sociable affair, with dinner served under the stars (weather permitting), inside reed enclosed boma, around a roaring log fire. This is the time to discuss the afternoon sightings as well as tomorrow’s plans with your ranger.

Room Type: Deluxe Suite
Meal Basis: All meals and beverages; Two game drives per day; Bush walks; Boutique South African wines, spirits, beers and soft drinks; Minibar; Refreshments on the game drive; Wi-fi; Laundry service; Transfers to and from Ulusaba Airstrip.

Day 7 - 8On the Game Drives in the Sabi Sands Game Reserve

The day begins early with tea or coffee with muffins and fruit before departing on the Game Drive which will take approximately 3-4 hours. Early morning and late afternoon are the best times to see most the large mammals. You will be treated to two game drives daily: one in the early morning and another one in the afternoon till the early evening.
Animals usually seen during the early morning game drive include rhinos, lion, leopards and giraffe. Lions are very active in the early morning enjoying family time with their curbs or stacking impalas at a water whole and with a bit of luck you may witness a kill. As the day progresses and the sun rises, predators usually seek refuge under the shade of a tree or bush and may spend the best part of the day sleeping, only to emerge in the late afternoon or evening. Night-time is when most carnivores – except wild dogs and cheetahs – do their hunting, and if you are lucky you may stumble on a kill.

Back to the lodge for a scrumptious breakfast after which the rest of the morning is at leisure.
This is your time to indulge in colonial-style comfort and contemplate three nights and four days of bliss. Between game drives, guests are free to embark on an escorted nature walk with an experienced armed tracker (these walks are subject to availability) – exploring the green riverbank and crossing the quirky suspension bridge. Your skilled tracker will explain the finer, intricate details of the bush and its many wonders en route. Return to the lodge for a lavish lunch and enjoy a little siesta afterwards.

Around 15h00 gather with fellow guests for a decadent high tea in preparation for your afternoon game drive during which your experienced Ranger will check your wildlife Wishlist to find out what hasn’t been ticked yet, but you may also be lucky by your third game drive in the Sabi Sands game reserve renowned for its prolific wildlife your high expectations have already been met and exceeded.
Enjoy sundowners and tracking nocturnal animals with the aid of a spotlight during your afternoon/evening game drive.

Back again at the lodge after an exhilarating afternoon of unforgettable bush life. Get ready for dinner served under the stars (weather permitting) while discussing the day sightings with fellow guests and your ranger. It is time to swap stories and make new friends.

Return to the lodge for breakfast. Afterwards complete the check-out procedures before being transferred by road to Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport, a journey of approximately 2 hours. From here, you will connect to your flight to Maputo International Airport.
On arrival in Maputo, you will be met by White Pearl Resorts lodge staff for a 90-minute road transfer to the lodge.
Depending on your arrival time, you will settle for lunch or high tea or simply take a dip in your private plunge pool or embark on a beach adventure.
