Tour Details

This 12-Day action-packed safari adventure takes you through some of Kenya and Tanzania’s most iconic wildlife locations. You’ll explore national parks, game reserves, and conservation areas by day while staying at comfortably outfitted safari lodges and camps by night.
You will witness different types of Migrations: Flamingo in Lake Nakuru and Lake Manyara as well as the annual pilgrimage of thousands of wildebeest, zebra and gazelle – The Great Migration – to and from the Masai Mara Nature reserve and all year round in the Serengeti National Park.
This epic journey starts in Kenya and ends in Tanzania.
Kick-off this safari with a visit to Lake Nakuru National Park to see how the unique characteristics of the alkaline water promote the growth of special algae that is the genesis of one of nature’s most spectacular scenes. Every year millions of flamingos migrate to feed on the algae and watching such a mass of birds feed is quite spectacular. Then we travel to the Masai Mara Nature Reserve offering dramatic panoramic scenery and plenty of game. See the seasonal Migration into the legendary reserve and cross the border to Tanzania and head to Lake Victoria, the largest freshwater lake in Africa. From here you enter the endless plains of Serengeti National Park before proceeding to the largest unbroken Caldera in the world – Ngorongoro Crater. The next stop is at Lake Manyara National Park in search of more flamingos and legendary tree climbing lions. Round off this once-in-a-lifetime trip by visiting Tarangire National Park to see how Herds of up to 300 elephants scratch the dry Tarangire riverbed for underground streams while migratory wildebeest, zebra, buffalo, impala, gazelle, hartebeest and eland crowd the shrinking lagoons.

Day 2Lake Nakuru National Park

After breakfast, we head north to Lake Nakuru National Park about 3 hour’s drive from the capital city. This park is a must for your central Kenya tour of the Great Rift Valley to see how seasonally one to two million lesser and greater flamingos dip their curved bills into the warm, alkaline water of the lake to extract their favourite food – special algae that are found in abundance in this unique water outback. Arrival in the Park is around lunchtime.

Accommodation is at Lake Nakuru Lodge, a beautiful eco-lodge situated inside Lake Nakuru National Park boasting unobstructed views of the lake and wildlife. This property also has one of the best-rated locations in Nakuru! It offers accommodation with free WiFi, a seating area and flat-screen TV.
Enjoy lunch at the lodge then depart for the afternoon game drive in the National Park.
Most big safari animals are present in Lake Nakuru National Park except elephants. The park is known for its populations of black and white rhinos. The white rhino is particularly common, and different groups can be encountered throughout the day. Hippo, waterbuck, Burchell’s zebra and Thomson’s gazelle are common on the floodplains. The tree-climbing lions have also been spotted but remain very elusive.
Overnight and dinner are at Lake Nakuru Lodge.

Day 3 - 4Masai Mara

Morning Game Drive followed by breakfast and departure for the Masai Mara, Kenya’s most famous reserve. World-renowned as Kenya’s richest and densest wildlife reserve, the Maasai Mara is teeming with animals of all species. Offering superb plains scenery, unmatched safari activities and diverse wildlife, Masai Mara National Reserve is considered Kenya’s best park and one of Africa’s highest wildlife density regions for predators.

Accommodation is at Olumara Tented Camp, a year-round small, tented camp spectacularly set along the Masai Mara Koiyaki Lemek conservation camp, which is a vastly unexplored area. This is a photographer’s haven and is great for both day and night game drives. Local games include elephant, Burchell’s zebra, Masai giraffe, lesser kudu, Grant’s gazelle, lion, cheetah, rhino, eland, the rare honey badger, as well as our occasional spotted resident leopard.
Enjoy a refreshing Welcome drink while completing check-in procedures. Settle in your room and later have lunch. Your stay is on Full Board.

Your days will be spent on morning and afternoon 4 x 4 Game drives as well as full-day wildlife adventures (during the Migration period). The location, wildlife, activities and comfortable moderate climate put Mara at the top of the list, even for the most discerning to Kenya. Masai Mara wildlife is the incarnation of nature at its best. Depending on the travel date you may witness the Great Migrations which enters the reserve from July to October. As over a million wildebeests and thousands of zebras, elands and gazelles traverse the landscape, the peaceful savannah plains are transformed into a thunderous hub of activity. The immense herds travel to the northern grazing grounds fed by the rains and fresh pasture, and their path is marked by the dust clouds that linger in the air. The journey is wrought with dangers and obstacles, including ever-watchful lions, leopards and cheetahs crouched in the grasses and the crocodile-infested Mara River taking the front row seats of the greatest spectacle on earth!

Outside the Migration Period, the Mara offers year-round game viewing. The reserve and surrounding conservancies offer diverse resident species experiences during safari excursions. Expected to be seen are impalas, giraffes, elephants, zebras, buffalos, warthogs and other grazing herbivores. With so many prey animals, Masai Mara is a veritable bonanza for large predators, such as lions, cheetahs, leopards, crocodiles and other stealthy, powerful hunters. The abundance of terrestrial animals is enhanced by the presence of more than 450-winged species, including 57 birds of prey.
Following 3 magnificent days of spectacular game viewing in the Masai Mara Game Reserve, our next stop on this multi-country itinerary is the visit to Tanzania’s iconic Northern Parks for more world-class wildlife adventures.
